Cue the dramatic music, then fade in the video… the deep voiced narrator says “He is a man so interesting that people fall asleep two hours before he shows up to the party…”

Stop laughing and I will tell you who I am and why I do old time photography?

I am a lifelong lover of people. I am a social butterfly and love parties and weddings and any chance to get to know other people. I think everyone has a divine spark, even if some people hide it really well.

My goal is to try and capture your spark. I want other people to see it in your portrait!

Why old time photography? Digital photography has never been so easy. Everyone walks around with a camera in their pocket. My digital cameras are amazing tools and I use them to capture weddings and video. But there is a downside to all this. Most photos are looked at on a tiny screen and then never seen again.

The historic methods of photography are deliberate and maybe a bit slow. “Click click click” and “swipe swipe swipe” is replaced with a more human pace with some thoughtful contemplation of the image. We’re not just making a portrait, but can have a conversation and make a connection. This is when that inner spark has time to come out and be captured.

I make images in pure Silver, Gold, and maybe a bit of iron. They have a depth and quality no digital printer can compete with. They invite contemplation and reflection; people will talk about the image and the story behind it for years to come. The connection we make in our session will be captured in an image. That connection will be expanded to include friends and family when they see you image. It is no surprise that images taken 150 years ago are still being viewed and impacting modern people.

So if you think that connection is worth your time, and a little effort, lets have a conversation! Email me at jeff@sunandsilver.photo and we can set up some time together.
