Cosplay woman in a tintype image

Watch, clock, smartphone, sundial
All telling us the time
But all telling us something that doesn't matter
Space and time and place and rhyme
All come together in ways you cannot measure or define.

Yes, the sun rises and sets,
But really it is the earth that spins
Tales and myths and somewhere reality falls
Like a top that whirls and vibrates and eventually loses its momentum.

But maybe she knows
Something we don't understand,
That Sun and Silver
Slip through the world, our hands, and
Tarnish is all that remains.

A tintype fantasy featuring Wisconsin artist and creator Kale. We met in Germantown, Wisconsin, on a chilly and windy Spring day. We created several fantasy images that day despite the weather.

This next tintype has to many beautiful elements starting with the rendering of our 100 year old Petzval lens. Kale’s outfit blends traditional and modern in a way that is really timeless – this photo could have been taken 150 years ago!

Here is another view of the finished tintype from the top of this post. We framed it in a handmade pine frame finished using Shou sugi ban. The tintype is magnetically mounted on a 3D printed matte; truly a mix of modern and traditional arts! This tintype is for sale – Contact Us if you are interested in owning this tintype fantasy!
