It’s a nice day for a white wedding – or so Billy says! Our white wedding photo was taken at Pleasant View Studios on a September day. Over 40 models and photographers gathered for some Pre-Halloween fun. Sun and Silver loaded up our darkroom and made the trip to do tintypes. We made over 25 tintypes that afternoon which was a record for us!

Model KD Jae came by for some digital photos on the bench near our darkroom. She brought along photographer Steph or S Giron Photography. Here is one of their dreamy shots!

As luck would have it I had an 8×10 plate almost ready to go so KD agreed to pose for a tintype. We got the camera set up and prefocused so Steph captured a nice view from under the dark cloth. On the left is the actual view I see in the camera where everything is upside down and reversed. I flipped the photo for the right side so you can better see how beautiful the image is.

We changed up the pose a little and then captured out 8×10 image. We had to use an 18 second exposure because the sun was setting. KD did an amazing job holding still that long and the tintype turned out so awesome! At the risk of being technical.. we managed an exposure that has good light on her face while still catching details in her super white wedding dress. The gods of alchemy surely did give us a nice day for a white wedding! That and a lot of luck!
